Homemade Lemonade

A glass of homemade lemonade made with freshly squeezed lemons hits the spot on a hot summer day! I like to add a cup of fresh berries to give it a nice color and flavor twist.
Total Time 15 minutes
Servings: 1 Gallon
Course: Drinks
Cuisine: American

Ingredients

  • 1 lemon, sliced
  • 1 cup white sugar
  • 1 cup lemon juice
  • 1 cup fresh berries if desired
  • Cold water
  • Extra lemon slices for garnish

Method

  1. Slice one lemon and place in gallon pitcher. Add sugar and mash together with a wooden spoon.
  2. Add a cup of fresh berries if desired. Smash them a little bit with the wooden spoon to break them down.
  3. Juice lemons to make one cup lemon juice. Pour the freshly squeezed juice into the pitcher.
  4. Fill the pitcher the rest of the way with cold water. Gently mix to dissolve the sugar.
  5. Pour into glasses, garnish with a lemon slice, and enjoy!
