Peel and cut potatoes into chunks. Put them in a big pot, salt generously, and cover with water. Bring to a boil and cook till potatoes are soft.
Drain the water off the potatoes, mash them good, then add the butter, salt, pepper, garlic powder. Mash a little more to mix and melt the butter. Add the milk and sour cream and mash till nice and smooth. Once it’s fully mashed and smooth, stir in the chopped green onions.
Taste and adjust seasonings to taste. Serve right away while nice and hot.
Notes
You can serve them in a crockpot. Maybe add a little milk and they’ll stay nice and warm and good in a crockpot for hours.
